Banaras is director Nemom Pushparaj's second movie. The film has Vineeth and Kavya Madhavan in the lead roles. Vineeth enacts Hari, a research student on folk dances and Kavya Madhavan plays the role of Amritha, a classical dancer. The movie is a musical entertainer with M. Jayachandran and Giresh Puthencherry handling the music department.
