Red Chillies Review: Malayalam Movie Review

40% Red Chillies, is Mohanlal's first release of 2009. The movie is a great one if you are an ardent Mohanlal fan. Like the early Shaji Kailas movies Mohanlal this time comes with a punch line "Onnum Marakkilla Rama"

Plot
The hero, OMR (Mohanlal) is a businessman based in Singapore, who also owns a radio station in Kerala named Red Chillies. The radio jockeys enters into some trouble. OMR comes to Kerala to rescue them.

50% Nowrunning (Review by Thomas)
Shaji Kailas seems to have developed some kind of an obsession for technical gimmicks, making him overlook other relevant aspects

40% Rediff
The film is full of typical Shaji Kailas style technical razzmatazz, which sometimes dilutes the theme and makes us feel that there is not enough substance in the story. Even the quality of the sound is very poor.

40% Sify
Red Chillies would have been a better film if the makers had spent more time on the basics, meaning the story and the script, rather than at the editing and computer-graphics. Still it is a edge-of-the seat crime thriller with gritty performance by Mohanlal that keep the mercury rising.

30% Nowrunning (Review by VN)
As fascinating as it may sound, Red Chillies spends half its time making its lead actor walk up and down the aisles, getting in and out of cars and stroll hither and thither in real slow motion.
