I had expectations about the directorial debut of the most exciting youth icon of Malayalam entertainment industry, Vineeth Srinivasan, just like anyone who hails from Kerala. Telling you the fact that Vineeth never disappoint me with his new movie ‘Malarvadi Arts Club.’
Vineeth fused a bunch of fresh talents and veterans of the industry and created a difference for the people who love to see and accept variety. It’s a single step by Vineeth but a giant leap for the revolution of Malayalam film industry. Just like what happened in Tamil cinema, our films too are finding the route of new thoughts and novel way of script writing and movie making. As a movie lover, I should congratulate three factors behind this movie apart from Vineeth. 1. The producer Dileep, for having faith in the new generation. 2. The cast of the movie, for a stupendous performance they have given and 3. Shaan Rahman, with his peppy numbers he created an identity for the movie’s soul.
Story line
The movie is all about 5 friends who live in a small Malabar village called Manassery. They are very much inspired by a man who has a multi-layered relationship with them and he happened to be their friend, philosopher and mentor. The prime factor behind their unity is love for music and Malarvadi Arts Club. The guys face many problems in their life and they find their own unique solutions for the issues with the help of their mentor.
Performance
The fresh blood brought a truck load of freshness to the screen, even if they are bottling the same old wine, they are having their unique style for doing it. Nedumudi Venu, Kottayam Nazeer, Suraj Venjaramood and Salim Kumar support the new faces and handled their roles very well.
Negatives
I felt the freshness and the difference that the of the movie in the title song itself. Though the movie serves us some sort of imperfections, we can easily forget it by looking into the sincerity and dedication given by a bunch of youth for their passion called cinema. Like a father or mother forgets their kid’s trivial mistakes, we can forget those flaws of the making. Let’s believe this ‘changathikootam’ will bring us more and more lovely movies like ‘Malarvadi Arts Club.’
